The following document has been around for a while, but still somehow seems to slip through the watchful eyes of amateur UFO researchers. The Case of the Flying Saucers originated as a lecture by Manly P. Hall. Hall was a Canadian born mystic and prolific author of anything and everything related to philosophy, religion, and esoteric works. His sharp mind and encyclopedic knowledge of everything esoteric make his writing about UFOs very interesting. Included in the text is a sighting that he himself had while on a mountain countryside. I would strongly recommend further reading of his works.

The remainder of the unreleased "cablegate" documents were released last week on Wikileaks. While we have been waiting on the sidelines hoping for proof of UFO cover-up, all we had up to the full release last week was a couple less than sensational documents. As all of us sift through the 250,000+ documents looking for that gem, one has already popped up, sort of.

The following document details a meeting between the mayor of Dushanbe and U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan, Ken Gross. Not sure what to make of it, but it appears that the mayor of Dushanbe has a great deal of interest in extraterrestrials.

The 2011 MUFON Symposium in Irvine, CA featured a number of well known speakers in the UFO circuit. One of the most intriguing was Joseph McMoneagle. McMoneagle served in the United States Army and was eventually recruited for a start-up program designed to test whether psi could be utilized for intelligence purposes. The project continued for a number of years until it was finally closed in 1995.

McMoneagle took the stage and offered fascinating tales regarding his inadvertent remote viewing of a UFO, his thoughts on extraterrestrial contact, and even some advice on where SETI should be listening in our galaxy. At the conclusion of his lecture, he took questions from the audience. One audience member asked if it was possible to utilize remote viewing to make money on the stock market. His reply was that not only was it possible, but he and a group of others at Stanford Research Institute had already done it. One of the scientists at SRI, Russel Targ, said,

"In 1982, nine remote viewing forecasts were made four days in advance for changes in the price of silver futures on the COMEX commodity exchange, and all nine were correct."

Cool Crop Circles!

I have never really known what to make of crop circles. Over the years, they have increased in complexity and many have exhibited human inspired content. Still, there might be something to some of them. Crop circles are said to have been seen as far back as the 1600's and were first researched by amateur scientist John Rand Capron in 1880. Capron stated:

"The storms about this part of Surrey have been lately local and violent, and the effects produced in some instances curious. Visiting a neighbour's farm on Wednesday evening (21st), we found a field of standing wheat considerably knocked about, not as an entirety, but in patches forming, as viewed from a distance, circular spots....I could not trace locally any circumstances accounting for the peculiar forms of the patches in the field, nor indicating whether it was wind or rain, or both combined, which had caused them, beyond the general evidence everywhere of heavy rainfall. They were suggestive to me of some cyclonic wind action ..."

A trade paperback edition of UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record came out earlier this month. For those who have not read the book, buy it immediately! Not only does the book contain some of the absolutely best cases by some of the most reputable witnesses ever, it contains one of the best analysis of exactly how the UFO subject has developed into an issue ridiculed by media. This is all part of the plan.

Leslie Kean is a subtle yet powerful voice that focuses on the fact that we don't know what is going on, but we know something is going on. Her flow of logic is very similar to Jaqcues Vallee and it is great to see that not all have lost their minds in the labyrinth that is UFO research.

Consider the case of former KGB agent turned dissident Alexander Litvinenko. In 1998, Litvenenko and several other agents publicly linked the death of Russian Oligarch Boris Berezovsky to superiors in the Federal Security Service (FSB). The following March, Litvenenko was arrested for “exceeding his authority” at work. After being acquitted of all charges, Litvenenko was again arrested in November 1999 only to have the charges dismissed. Shortly after being the second dismissal, Litvenenko fled with his family to London to become a writer.

He published two books, Blowing Up Russia: Terror From Within and Lubyanka Criminal Group in which he described staged acts of terrorism ordered by the Russian secret services, carried out to bring Vladmir Putin to power. Litvenenko also accused Putin of ordering the assassination of another vocal critic, Anna Politkovskaya, who was shot numerous times, including a point-blank shot to the head.

Newly Released UFO Files from the UK Government

From the UK National Archives:

The National Archives has today released another 34 'UFO files' covering the period 1985-2007. The files from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) contain top secret memos in which UFOs are discussed, as well as sightings and incidents reported by members of the public, parliamentary questions, briefings and photos. In all, almost 9,000 pages of new material are now open to the public.

The files reveal that 'defence experts' were called in to examine a 2004 photo of a 'flying saucer' taken outside Retford town hall in Nottinghamshire. According to the files, experts from the Defence Geographic and Imagery Intelligence Agency (DGIA) could not reach any 'definitive conclusions' on the contents of the picture.

Huge UFO Sighted Near Nuclear Missiles During October 2010 Launch System Disruption

On October 23, 2010, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, temporarily lost the ability to communicate with 50 of its Minuteman III nuclear missiles. The five Missile Alert Facilities responsible for launching those ICBMs in time of war—Alpha through Echo, comprising the 319th Strategic Missile Squadron—would have been unable to do so during the period of the disruption. This dramatic story was leaked to Mark Ambinder, a contributing editor at The Atlantic, which published it three days later.1

The Air Force then quickly acknowledged the problem, saying that a back-up system could have launched the missiles and claiming that the breakdown had lasted a mere 59 minutes. However, the latter statement was untrue, according to two missile technicians stationed at F.E. Warren, who say that the communications problem, while intermittent, actually persisted over several hours. Significantly, these same individuals report multiple sightings by "numerous [Air Force] teams" of an enormous cigar-shaped craft maneuvering high above the missile field on the day of the disruption, as well as the following day. The huge UFO was described as appearing similar to a World War I German Zeppelin, but had no passenger gondola or advertising on its hull, as would a commercial blimp.

The following material comes from Physics 370 - Introductory Space Science. Included below is the original text used from 1968-70, followed by the revised and much more subdued text of 1970. Why was it revised? Probably because the National Enquirer got a hold of the story and published "Air Force Academy Textbook Warns Cadets That UFOs May Be Spacecraft Operated by Aliens From Other Worlds." A Short Course on the Djinn

In Arabian lore, djinn are a race of supernaturally empowered beings who have the ability to intervene in the affairs of people. Like the Greek daimones, djinn are self-propagating and can be either good or evil. They can be conjured in magical rites to perform various tasks and services. A djinni (singular) appears as a wish-granting “genie” in folk tales such as in The Book of 1001 Nights collection of folk tales.

In Western lore djinn are sometimes equated with demons, but they are not the same. They are often portrayed as having a demonic-like appearance, but they can also appear in beautiful, seductive forms. The djinn are masterful shape-shifters, and their favored forms are snakes and black dogs. They also can masquerade as anything: humans, animals, ghosts, cryptids, and other entities such as extraterrestrials, demons, shadow people, fairies, angels and more.

The djinn are not confined to the Middle East, or to the past. They exist in their own realm, probably a parallel dimension, and they have the ability – and the desire – to enter our world and interact with us. The djinn have been among us in antiquity and they are among us now.

Downed Alien Spacecraft in Baltic Sea?

A hot topic in UFO circles right now is the apparent discovery of an anomalous object found last month in the Baltic Sea. The Ocean Explorer team discovered the object on June 19^th while surveying the ocean floor for shipwrecks. The team described the object as being found by sonar equipment under 300 feet of water, circular in shape, and measuring about 60 feet in diameter.
